Vancouver

A few weeks ago I went to Victoria Island and Vancouver for work. Daniel, our sound guy, Carrie, the director and me along with our cameraman Don, from Victoria, interviewed and filmed 4 abooriginal clothing designers. The experience was fantastic and the designers words were very inspiring. This season's shows are going to be very engaging and visually pleaseing, so I'll make sure to let you all know when they'll air on APTN. During the trip I also made my modeling debut. I modeled some fashions for Valerie Morgan and Bill Helin. That gives all of you even more reason to watch the show, you'll infally get to see me on national tv.

My homecoming barbeque!

My mom followed through on her promise to cook me a great bbq feast when I got home. She invited our family and neighbors to the farm on June 25th. The get together went well and we had a competitive tournament of bean bag toss where yours truly along with my Aunt Sylvia made it to the final. Our neighbor Jerry Gabora ended up scoring a point on the last toss to steal the champ title, but I made an impressive go at it in the final.

Last night in Korea

Staying true to tradition, I partied my entire last night in Korea and came home at 8 a.m, which was just in time to shower and catch my 10:30 bus. Thanks to all of my friends for coming out on a Tuesday night to send me off properly. I had a fantastic time and won't forget the sleep you sacrificed for me.

I love you and will miss you all!

Ben, our jook tong ju lady, Me and Lisa. This woman rocked! We used to always go to her little pub around the corner and drink plenty of jooktong ju (bamboo wine.) She was definaltey our favourite lady to drink from and of course we had to get a picture of her on my last night.

As we were walking along the road, Ben found a tire and decided he should play with it.

Yup rolling a tire down the street at 2:30 a.m is lots of fun as Ben demonstrates all too well.

By 3 a.m. Ben was a tad annoyed with my abundance of energy. He was definately ready to go home.

Daehanminguk!

"Dae-han-min-guk, Dae-han-min-guk!" is the phrase you hear everywhere in Korea these days. Like the most of the rest of the world, Koreans have World Cup soccer fever. I must say I wish the enthusiasm and kindness I have experienced the past two weeks will linger long after the world cup has finished.

Everywhere you go people are dressed in the red devil garb and cheering for their team. It's quite invigorating and nice to see Koreans actually showing some public emotion

I knew I couldn't miss out on such an important national even so Monday morning at 3 a.m Ben, George and I got up and headed to the downtown area to watch Korea versus France on the big screen. All three of us were quite surprised to see a sea of red shirts and glowing red devil horns chanting and hollering at 3 o'clock on a Monday morning. Those rumours I heard about the Koreans taking soccer seriously were obviously true. The game itself wasn't all that interesting, until the last fifteen minutes or so, when Korea put a bit of pressure on the French. But even with a final result of 1-1, the Korean fans were still in a celebratory mood and put on a great show for us waygooks (foreigners.) They were quite impressed that we showed up to cheer for their team and one of them invited us out drinking after. Gotta love the Koreans!

I had to dress up and be patriotic.

I wanted to have this guys job - chanting and running around on a big stage with a microphone.

Back in Korea

While in Insadong this past Saturday we saw some Koreans dressed in traditional clothing and I took the opportunity to take a few photos. I would have taken more photos had I been quicker to pull out my camera from the depths of my bag.

Back in my old dancing stomping ground...LAVA.... woo hoo..It was a great night!
